If you’re part of a parent council for an area school and there’s a project you feel could use some funding, the Ministry of Education is looking at backing those projects.

Their annual Parents Reaching out Grants are now accepting applications.

Chair of the Near North Board Dave Thompson says there are grants for workshops, awareness series or presentations that could be useful in and outside the classrooms.

He says he hopes local parent councils will apply as it’s important for them to be involved in the process.

Thompson adds parent councils are important to each school as they can voice their concerns to the principal and the school board.
