capitolcentre_210x155Good news on the financial side for the Capitol Centre.

It was reported this week at the annual general meeting the facility came in with a $7,800 surplus and that’s on a $1.7-million budget.

General Manager Dee Adrian says the staff deserves credit.

She says they are now a 12 month facility up from 9 months so that means booking more events in the summer like the 8 week Summer Theatre Camp and the return of Rep 21. Adrian says offering diverse programming is their calling card. She says they want to offer culturally enriching events all year long.

She points out they did move close to 13 thousand dollars from the budget to special projects. She says the major one is the installation of a canopy at the Mcintyre Street exit.

Adrian says the lineup for the fall and next winter will be announced sometime in May.
