About 150 Aboriginal Community Leaders from across the province will be in North Bay for the next two days.

They will be attending the Walking Together, Sharing Together Conference at the Best Western.

The North Bay Indian Friendship Centre is the host for this event, and Director Nancy Potvin says it’s to share ideas on how more communities can benefit and thrive.

She says it’s important to find partnerships between indigenous populations and the communities they live in and around. Potvin says 10% of the North Bay’s population is Indigenous and 40% of that population is under the age of 25, which makes them the fastest growing population in the country.

Potvin says this conference will explore ways to find those partnerships. She says they will talk about housing, cross-cultural awareness training and more
