graduationTwo of the four local school boards are above the provincial average when it comes to the four year gradation rate.

The French Catholic Board (CSDC Franco-Nord) had the highest four year grad rate at 92 percent followed by the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic Board is at 80 percent.

The provincial rate is 76 percent , which is up 20 percentage points from 2004.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says high school graduation rates are up thanks to government intervention to help students complete school.

The French Public Board (CSD du Nord-Est de l’Ontario)  locally is at 72 percent while the four year grad rate at the Near North District School Board is 64 percent.

This is the first time the province has released graduation data for individual school boards.

The local school board grad rates are as follows:

CSDC Franco-Nord
– 92% four year grad rate
– 94% five year grad rate

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic Board
– 80% four year grad rate
– 86% five year grad rate

CSD du Nord-Est de l’Ontario
72% four year grad rate
85% five year grad rate

Near North District School Board
– 64% four year grad rate
– 74% five year grad rate
