Sab picA sad day in local entertainment circles.

Well-known musician Peter “Sab” Sabourin, who was also known as the “Original Rock and Roll Outlaw” has passed away.

He had battled cancer for a number of years.

His website, www.sabrocks.com says he played all over the world and was known for his comedy, top hat, long hair, snakeskin boots and enormous heart.

As we hear in this archive audio before the final Heritage Festival, Sab talked about putting on a great show.

His website also says he recorded or toured with a number of musical legends including Ronnie Hawkins, Kris Kristopherson, Trooper, Jeff Healey, Dr Hook and April Wine, to name a few.

Sab is survived by a wife and two daughters.  He was 51 years old.
