The mayors of North Bay and Barrie have a friendly bet underway involving the OHL Eastern Conference semi-final between the Battalion and the Colts.

Mayor Al McDonald reached out on social media to the mayor of Barrie who has accepted the challenge.

The winner will donate to their favourite charity.

McDonald says he’ll be donating to the Gathering Place Soup Kitchen.

He says, “It’s an opportunity to promote both cities, to promote the series between the Battalion and the Colts and charity will benefit, so it’s all in good fun.”

Meantime, North Bay Police Chief Paul Cook (pictured below) and Barrie’s Police Chief also have a friendly wager underway.

It involves wearing the jersey of the opposing team and flying the other police services’ flag outside the police station for a day.
