radar apr10Environment Canada says the North Bay area is under a rainfall warning.

The forecast is calling for rain and a risk of a thunderstorm this morning — with mixed precipitation later on — then light snow tonight.

Meantime, both the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have issued a flood outlook for the area.

Officials say with rain, mild temperatures, the snow melting and higher than normal water content a Flood Outlook is in effect.

The result could be higher, faster flowing water and some streams could exceed their banks and there could be flooding in low lying areas.

The snow depth has been reduced by 10 cm in a week according to the Conservation Authority‘s snow survey report.

Residents are advised to monitor the latest conditions and municipalities are advised to monitor the water crossings around culverts and bridges.
