Nipissing-University

The science and technology sector of the federal government is helping out a project at Nipissing University.

Just over $545,000 is going towards a Physical Health and Education research project.

MP Jay Aspin announced the funding on behalf of the Minister of State and says they are pleased to continue investing in Nipissing research projects.

A $45,000 Canada Research Chair (CRC) program grant was awarded to Dr. Mark Bruner, an associate professor in the Physical Health and Education department, whose research will be focused on understanding how youth form their social identities through participation in sport teams and how that shapes their treatment of teammates.

Canadian Foundation of Innovation (CFI) funding will be connected to the CRC funding and will be provided at up to $100,000 per year for up to five years.
