After many months of reports and consultations with the public, Council looks to be heading forward with the Comprehensive Zoning By-Law. Chair of Community Services Mark King says it hasn’t been updated since the early 1980’s, but if approved at Council next week, there would be a review every five years.

This study looked at every single area of the city, and how it should be properly zoned.

King says at this point, it’s not going to hurt existing homeowners. If someone is looking at residential development, they will have to go through a process.

King says these zoning changes will help out when it comes to issues brought forward to the Ontario Municipal Board.
