Summer Road-Spotlight

Helping connect municipalities to provincial highways; that’s the idea behind the Connecting Links program.

It’s a new program setup by the province, which will commit $15-million dollars annual to communities in Ontario.

The money will be used for repairs and construction costs on roadways which connect to provincial highways and border crossings.

Mayor Al McDonald says he thinks it’s a good idea, although there has been no announcement of where the money will be spent. He says he hopes a lot of the money does come north.

He says it’s vital to bring in new residents and businesses to the city.
