WSOC_RecruitsErikaandAndrea_April22, 2015_HPThe Nipissing Lakers women’s soccer team is adding a couple of new recruits and the North Bay Baseball Association is holding their final registration session this week. Meantime, the Canadore Panthers have added three guards for their squad next year.

First, Lakers women’s soccer coach David Bitonti is finding players to step up and become a new core to the team for the future.

Nipissing is losing three players to graduation. They’ve been with the team for the past five years.

They’ve signed striker Erika Brennan from Woodbridge and central defender Andrea Dermott from Erin Mills.

Bitonti says, “These two signings definitely fill some holes and will add depth to the team especially at the back and top ends of our lineup. One thing that stands out with both Erika and Andrea is their size and strength. Both girls are very strong on the ball and thrive on one-versus-one battles in attacking and defending situations,”

Meantime, the North Bay Baseball Association‘s final registration session for the upcoming season goes Wednesday evening, April 29th at Skaters Edge Source for Sports.

It’s happening during their “Ball Night” from 5 pm to 8 pm.
