For the second time in these playoffs Battalion forward Ryan Kujawinski has scored a clutch, game-winning goal in overtime for the North Bay Battalion.

This time he gave the Troops a 2-1 win over the Oshawa Generals and a 2-1 series lead in the Rogers OHL Eastern Conference Final.

Matthew Sookram had the call.

In the Barrie series, Kujawinski scored in double overtime at Memorial Gardens to give North Bay a game four victory over the Colts.

Back in the first period, Oshawa opened the scoring with a powerplay marker from Stephen Desrocher.

Ray Huether then evened the score for the Battalion, who were outshot 15-6 in the first.

There was no scoring in the second or third periods, then Kujawinski found the back of the net at 10:28 of the extra frame, his 6th goal of the post-season.

Both netminders had strong performances again, with Battalion goalie Jake Smith turning aside 34 of 35 shots while Oshawa’s Ken Appleby stopped 31 of 33 shots.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler talked about Smith’s performance after the game.

The Troops can take a big 3-1 series lead with a win tonight, as they host Game Four on Wednesday night at Memorial Gardens.
