The Oshawa Generals scored a 2-1 win in game six of the OHL Eastern Conference Final, to win the series four games to two.

It was the final game for overages Marcus McIvor, Brenden Miller and Ray Huether, who skated off the ice last for the Battalion.

Goalie Jake Smith says it was a disappointing ending, but they worked hard all season.

The Troops were down 2-0 going into the third, before Nick Moutrey got them to within a goal. But they couldn’t beat Generals Goaltender Ken Appleby a second time and the Generals are headed to the OHL finals.

The Battalion fought hard to the end and Head Coach Stan Butler was asked if he expected anything less.

Butler says it was a tough and very close played series.

Butler says he’s proud of the season they put together.

Butler was asked about what he thought of the series as a whole.

The Generals advance to play Erie in the OHL Final.
