Sports_Survey_280_Newsletter There is an open tryout tonight (Wednesday) for the Men’s Senior Baseball League. Meantime, the Nipissing Lakers Men’s Soccer team has announced their fourth signing of the off-season. Meantime, someone hit a hole in one on the fourth hole at Pinewood.   

Anyone 16 and older, who is looking to play baseball this year, don’t forget about the open workout tonight at Steve Omischl Sports Complex at 6pm – see Chad Lacelle once, you get there for all the information. After the workout you will be placed on a team for the upcoming Men’s Senior Baseball League. Games are scheduled to begin next Monday – May 25th.

 

MSOC - Recruit - Kevin Shimi

The Nipissing Lakers Men’s Soccer Team has announced their newest signing.

Aurora, Ontario native Kevin Shimi will join the team.

Shimi is a forward who has played with the Richmond Hill Raiders rep squad. Shimi says “I am going to work had to earn a starting spot in my first year as well make a significant contribution to our team with my share of goals and assists.”

Head Coach Carlo DeVuono says “Kevin brings a physical presence that will help him adapt quickly to the OUA.  He is a talented player that can play in a number of different positions helping strengthen the team by giving us much need depth on the left side.”

Shimi is the fourth signing this off-season for the Lakers.

 

A hole in one at the Pinewood Golf Course last night (Tues).   Mark Gibson aced the 122 yard fourth hole with a 7 iron.  Three other golfers witnessed the shot.
