cassellholmeCity Council saw a report on the redevelopment of Cassellholme during Monday’s meeting.

CEO Jamie Lowery says they wanted to update council on where they ar in the process.

He says this isn’t just a replacement project,  but a way of shaping North Bay in the area of care-giving.

He says they still have a long way to go and it will be an expensive project.

Lowery says “we’re looking at probably $55-million of project – and we’re looking at other revenue streams and potential partners.”

Mayor Al McDonald says he would love to see shovels in the ground next summer – but can’t guarantee it will happen.

He says the sooner the better as it’s a project that’s needed in the community because he says “the current facility doesn’t meet the current requirements of the LHIN. It’s something that we need to do, to look after our seniors and our elderly.”
