KislingerThe North Bay Battalion have made their picks in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.

With the 48th overall selection they chose German born 17 year old Maximilian Kislinger, and with the 108th selection, the Battalion went back to Sweden for Robin Kovacs

Kislinger is listed as 6’2″and shoots left. He played his minor midget year with the Peterborough Petes in 2013-2014, and then played with an Under 18 and Under 20 team in Austria last season.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says Kovac is expected to be a top line player right away, while they expect to have to develop Kislinger a little more.

Kovacs, who can play both spots on the wing, is 18 years old and was selected in the third round of this year’s NHL draft by the New York Rangers. He is described as a speedy winger that likes to agitate opponents and strikes quickly.

Scouts say Kovacs is an all-around winger that players hate to play against.  Butler says it’s not a guarantee that Kovac suits up for the Troops as he’s leaning to go back to Sweden.

Also, Three more Battalion players have been invited to NHL development camps.   Zach Bratina is off to the New York Rangers camp, Brett McKenzie to the Philadelphia Flyers development camp and Miles Liberati to the Pittsburgh Penguins camp.  Defenceman Riley Bruce is going to the Flames development camp after being drafted in the 7th round by Calgary last weekend.
