This week is Think Pink week

It was a day to celebrate on Monday at the CIBC branch on Cartier Street in North Bay.

Officials gathered for the start of Think Pink Week.

The highlights include a cake cutting, a proclamation declaring this as being Think Pink Week and details on a flag raising coming up on Friday.

That’s when the CIBC Run For The Cure flag will be raised at Fire Station 1.

This year’s Run For The Cure is October 4th with all funds supporting breast cancer research.

The run co director Melanie Gainforth says this is the 11th year they’ve done this and when this year’s event is over the community will have raised over 1 million dollars to fight breast cancer.

She says 1 in 9 women get diagnosed with breast cancer and affects men too.
