world space week A great week of making connections and showing what North Bay has to offer; that’s how Mayor Al McDonald describes World Space Week – which wrapped up in North Bay on the weekend.

He says the overall goal was to try and put North Bay on the map within the small fraternity of space related companies.

McDonald says between Industry Day, Education Day and Community Day – the city of North Bay impressed those companies.

He adds it’s reassuring to hear it from someone who was actually in space. On Sunday, Commander Chris Hadfield spoke at the Capitol Centre and said North Bay is a perfect fit for Space Industry initiatives.

McDonald reflected on where this leaves the city in the conversation of space hubs in the world.

He says they still have work to do but there’s no question they are at least in the conversation when it comes to premier space and aerospace hubs in the world.
