SITP stage shotIt will be another financial deficit for Summer in the Park in 2015.

A report to council shows the festival did not meet sponsorship targets and lost out on walk up sales for the Friday night show.

It also shows there were lower than expected Beer Garden sales and it all contributes to a $109,569 deficit.

This also brings the reserve funds to a negative balance of $155,978.

President of the Chamber of Commerce Jake LaCourse says despite those numbers this is still a great weekend of entertainment.

He says “I dare anyone to try and find a lineup like this for $25 in advanced. Even when it was $50 at the door it was still a steal of a deal. I think the good news story is that we invested $100,000 in and pulled out $6.7-million for the community (in economic spinoff)”

Council accepted the report as well as tasking the current committee to bring forward a new proposal, recommendations and budget to Council for the 2016 event.
