More honours for North Bay Battalion forward Zach Bratina.

On Monday he was named the OHL Player of the Week.

A day later we learned he’s also been named CHL Player of the week.

Bratina led the league with nine points over the Troops four games – including eight goals and one assist.

He scored a natural hat-trick on Thanksgiving Monday against the Steelheads and added an assist for a career high four point game.

Bratina finished the week with a plus-minus rating of plus-7.

CHL Canada RussiaMeantime, the honours don’t end there for Zach Bratina.

Two North Bay Battalion forwards have been named to the Team OHL roster for the upcoming Ontario Hockey League stops of the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series.

Bratina will play with Team OHL on November 12th in Owen Sound.

Troops Captain Mike Amadio takes to the ice with Team OHL on November 16th in Windsor.

The series also includes two games in the Western Hockey League prior to both OHL games, and ends with two games hosted by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Overall, it’s been quite the week for a few Troops.

The North Bay Battalion have a new franchise leader in wins by a goaltender.

Jake Smith (pictured left– photo by Terry Wilson/OHL Images) secured his 65th OHL victory in a 4-3 win over Niagara on Sunday.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says he’s happy for Smith and says he serves as a great example of someone who has never given up.

The Battalion are back in action on Thursday as they take on the Windsor Spitfires at Memorial Gardens.
