battalion280x160They have lost just two games all month and now the Ottawa 67’s bring their current hot streak to North Bay.

The Battalion host the 67’s for the first time this season tonight (Thursday) with the Troops looking to rebound after a weekend of three straight losses.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says injuries to defensemen Kyle Wood and Brady Lyle have had a trickle-down effect.

He says, “I thought at the start of the year, with those guys in the lineup, I was pretty confident that we’d have a really strong D and it would allow our forwards to take some time to evolve and develop. Without those two guys on the defence, it’s really hurt us back there.”

The Battalion have just two players with more than 10 points through 12 games so far this season.

Butler says Ottawa is another tough team to take on at this point of the year.

He says, “they have the top scorer in the league in Travis Konecky, and that’s the challenge for us right now is; everyone is better than us and we have to find a way to beat them.”

Catch the Battalion and the 67’s on Country 600 CKAT tonight, starting with the pre-game show at 6:35 pm.
