North Bay PoliceA busy weekend for city police.

They responded to 218 calls for service with 13 people charged with a variety of offences.

They include domestic assault, uttering threats, public intoxication, theft under $5,000, use of a credit card and breach.

Police also provided details on two incidents. One incident Friday night led to charges for a city man.

Police were called to Algonquin Avenue around 10 pm following a 911 call about a theft.

It’s alleged an unknown man ran in front of a vehicle on Algonquin at Lansdowne Avenue and ripped off the vehicle’s Ontario licence plate.

It’s further alleged officers located a man sitting behind a car wash on Algonquin with his female partner visibly injured. A 39 year old man is charged with domestic assault and three breach counts.

The investigation into the theft of the license plate continues.

 

Meantime, another incident just before 6 am Saturday has led to charges for a North Bay man.

It’s alleged a verbal dispute led to property being damaged and a female partner being physically assaulted.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A 22 year old man has been charged with mischief and assault.
