Powassan Voodoos_210Four branches of the Canadian Mental Health Association have formed a partnership with the NOJHL teams including the Powassan Voodoos.

Their partnership is called Talk Today and it encourages all NOJHL players to open up regarding any mental health issues.

The program includes several components like mental health and suicide awareness workshops, CMHA mental health coaches, NOJHL Mental Health champions and Talk Today community events.

NOJHL Commissioner Robert Mazzuca says mental health issues should no longer be a taboo subject around the rink.

The league says Talk Today is a mandatory program for all league teams.
