NBPSDeputyChief_Scott_TodScott Tod has accepted the position of Deputy Chief of Police.

He will be sworn in on Friday, January 22nd at a change of command ceremony at 22 Wing/CFB North Bay.

Tod has spent over 30 years in law enforcement and is currently the OPP Deputy Commissioner.

He says he’s really looking forward to is having a connection to the community.


Tod joined the OPP in 1982 serving in a variety of roles including Deputy Director and Officer-in-charge of the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre in North Bay.

Current Police Chief Shawn Devine says his successor’s resume is very impressive and Tod is the right choice.

Devine says it means they are looking for sustainability, efficiency and effectiveness as well as continuing to establish public trust.

At that same ceremony on the 22nd of January, Devine will be sworn in as Chief of Police, taking over for the retiring Chief Paul Cook.
