Luke media eventA financial reward of $50,000 is being offered by the province leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Luke Joly-Durocher.

It was five years ago today (Friday) that he disappeared.

City police held a media event to highlight the case and detail the reward that’s being offered.

North Bay Police Detective Sergeant Dan Webber says someone out there knows what happened to Luke.

He says he just didn’t walk away.

Webber says someone out there is responsible for his disappearance and other people know what happened.

Luke’s family also spoke.

His sister Priscillia Durocher says the family needs closure and they hope the reward will lead to finding out what happened to her brother.

She says it’s difficult not knowing what happened.

Joly-Durocher was 20 years old when he went missing.

Webber hopes this reward will stimulate information on what happened.

He says nothing has been ruled out at this point and foul play remains a possibility.

Webber says anyone with information on the whereabouts or disappearance of Luke is asked to call the investigative Support Section of North Bay Police, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Services of the OPP or Crimestoppers.
