Stegmann 1

CEO and Founder of The 7 Virtues Fragrance line Barb Stegemann was in North Bay today (Tuesday).

She was the keynote speaker for the Women’s Enterprise Event put on by the Business Centre of Nipissing Parry Sound partnered with PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise.

Stegemenn’s fragrance line uses oils and flowers from Afghanistan and she says doing business with war torn countries isn’t all about making money.

She says it’s about providing safe and secure jobs for the people who really need it.

Stegemann has also written a book about her challenges in starting up a business and working hard to see it grow.

Women's event

She says one of her messages is to show women there are going to be obstacles no matter what they are pursuing.

Stegemann brought this idea to the CBC show Dragon’s Den and was the first woman from Atlantic Canada to land a venture capital deal from the show.

She says she loves meeting women who say they are going to push harder to achieve their goals after hearing her story.
