D.Curry-Hall of Fame 2016 Don Curry, the man behind the North Bay and District Multi Cultural Centre since its inception will be honored at this years Evening of Applause.
On March 23rd, he will be inducted in the Nipissing District Human Rights Hall of Fame.
Meg Ramore of the North Bay Newcomer Network says the organization she belongs to and the Multi Cultural Centre wouldn’t exist without Curry so it is definetely deserved.

She says he has been a transrormative member of the community and a real leader in immigration circles.

She says he also convinced the city to support a motion for all permanent residents to receive the right to vote in municipal elections.

And that motion was forwarded on to the province.

This year’s Evening of Applause will take place at West Ferris Intermediate and Secondary School on March 23rd.

It’s the 28th annual and Ramore says Curry has been involved from the outset.

It’s held on that day because that is the annual day for the elimination of racial discrimination.
