Mauro Airport 2

A major investment from the province for North Bay.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Bill Mauro was in the city today (Monday) to announce the construction of a $9.5-million  state-of-the-art fire response facility at the airport.

Mauro says North Bay was a good choice for this build as a number of the services were already being provided here.

The old headquarters was built in the 1950’s and is separate from the airport.

Mauro says it was time to provide modern facilities and equipment to assists the FireRangers.

The new building will consolidate Fire Management Headquarters with warehouse, aerial operations and crew alert areas.

As well there will be dedicated aircraft parking for a number of aircraft and helicopters for the FireRanger crews.
