mnrThe North Bay District of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority have seperately issued  flood outlook watershed conditions statements.

The ministry says it is monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions.

The ministry says rainfall in the amount of 25 to 40 millimetres is ahead of the system that is starting Wednesday night..

The rainfall is currently predicted to the east shores of Georgian Bay and south of French River.

The flood outlook will be in effect until Thursday at midnight.

The Conservation Authority says last weekend’s rainfall and snow melt has resulted in high water conditions currently and with 25-40 millimetres possible in the forecast the high water conditions could be exacerbated which could lead to minor flooding in some areas.

If the snow melt continues due to warm temperatures the authority says there would be additional flooding concerns.

Residents are encouraged to monitor water crossings and to keep a watch on local conditions through Environment Canada.
