Torch run 2016

$600 was raised on Monday for Special Olympics Ontario.

City Police Cst. Merv Shantz says the money was collected at a barbecue following The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario.

He says the police have been involved in supporting Special Olympians for 30 years now and it’s a great partnership.

Shantz says they always want to support Special Olympians in their athletic endeavors.

He says many of the athletes are getting ready for the spring games in Guelph.

Shantz says North Bay Police, Military Police, and the OPP were involved in the run, as well as officers from Sudbury and the Sault.
