Spinal Cord

It could be difficult to find correct information online and Rob Shaw says there’s a need to create a resource generator for a specific audience.

That audience is people who have suffered from spinal cord injuries.

Shaw is a graduate student at McMaster University and has been in a wheelchair for five years after suffering an injury himself.

He’s part of a community engagement discussion today (Tuesday) focusing on physical activity promotion in the spinal cord injury community.

Shaw says “things like contact information are often not included. So while the information they are providing may be high quality they aren’t allowing the individual to seek out more information.”

The discussion also includes Dr. Kathleen Martin Ginis who is a Professor of Health and Exercise Psychology at McMaster University.

Sport North Bay and Nipissing University are hosting the event at Canadore College.
