City fire crews quickly knock down morning blaze

Plenty of smoke and flames were visible coming from a townhouse unit this morning (Tuesday) on the 600 block of Main Street East.

Fire crews from all three stations were dispatched at about 10 am.

Deputy Fire Chief Greg Saunders says there was a substantial amount of fire and crews got in there and aggressively knocked it down.

He says they don’t know cause yet, which will be investigated by City Fire Prevention.

Saunders says all the tenants were able to get out safely.

He says 4 people lived at the affected residence and there was no contents insurance.
