Employment Conference focuses on current and future economic outlook

The current and future economic outlook of the region is being highlighted today (Wed) at an Employment Conference.

The day-long event at the Best Western is being presented by The Labour Market Group.

Officials say the goal is to provide greater awareness of key workforce issues facing the community now and into the future.

Stacie Fiddler, Executive Director of the Labour Market Group states “This will be a fantastic opportunity for stakeholders to receive a first-hand look at how our local economy fits into the broader global market.”

Senior economist at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, Linda Nazereth delivers the keynote address, while Metcalf Foundation fellow, Tom Zizys will discuss the creation of a high performing Labour Market.

Provincial officials and employment services agencies will also be on hand.
