Victoria Day is one of 9 stat holiday’s in Ontario and that means the usual round of closures.

Most retail outlets and government offices are shutdown for the holiday. And that includes City Hall, meaning council will meet tomorrow night.

Those retail operations that are open illegally on Monday, face fines of $500 to $50,000.

Some exemptions include gas stations, tourist operators and convenience stores.

Meantime, there’s no garbage or recycling pick-up today, it’s being delayed a day this week.

There’s also no city transit service today either.
