Council strategic plan

North Bay City Council has revealed details of its strategic plan framework.

Phase 1 was introduced on Thursday and focuses on three pillars: growth and development, having a vibrant active, healthy and safe community and a prudent operation of the city.

Phase two will occur later this year when the public consultation piece will take place.

Mayor Al McDonald says there will be a series of town halls in the fall and people will get the chance to give their take on anything be it making North Bay a litter free city, what do people want to see at the waterfront and downtown and what facilities should North Bay have.

He says the work on phase 1 started last September and does include many of the things recommended in a recent report released by Baylor University on North Bay.

McDonald says the plan covers a 10 year period.
