A wrestling show in October in North Bay may attract a lot of attention.

Organizers of the October 1st show at L’Ecole Publique Odysee say it will be dedicated to Adam Miller a long time local promoter.

He recently passed away and was involved in putting on local wrestling events in support of Special Olympics.

Behind the event is Dann Pigozzo of Northland Wrestling. He says the show will include up to 10 bouts and it might be a three hour show which is longer than normal.

Pigozzo says he wants to pay tribute to Adam and he’s doing that by holding the Miller Cup Memorial Tournament which will include a minimum 7 matches for the tournament alone.

He says the show will raise funds for Special Olympics.

The name Northland Wrestling harkens back to wrestling shows of the past in North Bay. In fact, the wrestling circuit which included North Bay and many other northern centres was founded under the Northland Wrestling name in 1945.
