The men’s soccer team at Nipissing University has signed Christian Celebre who is playing right now for St Joseph-Scollard Hall and the Sudbury Impact of Canadian Soccer League level 3.

He will suit up for the Lakers in the fall.

He says he’s very excited to play for his home town team and soccer has been a part of his life since he was 3.

His coach  says it is not often that North Bay produces quality players that can play in the OUA and Christian he says has the skills to do so including intelligence, size and strength.
Meantime, the Nipissing University Lakers Nordic team has signed Karly Lockhart who most recently skied for the Kenora Nordic.

Head coach Toivo Koivukoski says Karly will fit into the program very well as she has skied all her life and comes from a skiing family.

She says her top accomplishments include performing in the Biathlon for Team Manitoba at the Canada Winter Games and taking part in the Nordic competition at the OFSAA’s.
