An Egyptian Exhibit is in North Bay

A new exhibit has opened at the Discovery North Bay Museum.

Museum Director and Curator Naomi Rupke says they have begun “Egypt: Gift of the Nile.”

She says the show will feature 68 Egyptian artifacts including jewelry, carvings, writing tools, and a full sized sarcophagus.

She says the items are on loan from the Royal Ontario Museum and will be here from now until August 13th.

There will also be an event tomorrow hosted by Nipissing University Professor Dr. Eric Weichel.

Rupke says “Gift of the Imagination” has Weichel talking about the use of ancient Egyptian culture in movies and TV.

The presentation runs Tuesday at 7pm.
