Battalion select Swedish blueliner in CHL Import Draft

The North Bay Battalion selected Swedish defenceman Adam Thilander from Skelleftea AIK Jr. 18 with the 38th overall pick in the CHL Import Draft.

Coach Stan Butler says he’s a high impact player with lots of skill.

He says they picked the best player available and now the work starts in attempting to get the player over here.

Thilander is 6′ tall, 192 pounds and plays right defence.

Thilander played 7 games with the Swedish national team at the U18 World Championship, scoring a goal and 2 assists.
