A couple more signings for the Powassan Voodoos.

They picked up forward Parker Bowman, who is from Bracebridge and defenceman Danael Boutin, who’s from Amos, Quebec.

Bowman scored 23 goals and 29 assists in 64 games for the North Central Midget AAA Predators last season.

“He showed strong at our spring prospect camp,” noted Voodoos Head Coach Scott Wray.

“He plays with an edge and has a good touch around the net. Parker plays a lot like Aaron Dart, so I’m looking forward to having him play for us this season.”

Bowman says Powassan is the right spot for him.

“I’m extremely excited to start the next chapter in my hockey career with the Voodoos,” said Bowman.

“Powassan is the place for a Northern Ontario boy like me, small town life and big town hockey!”

Boutin is a big bodied Defenceman who played for the Temiscaming Titans of the GMHL last season where he contributed three assists in nine games last season.

“He’s a six foot three defensemen that likes to take care of his own end,” Wray described about the 1998 birth year blueliner.

“We are looking for Danael to eat up big minutes on the penalty kill and shutting the other teams top guys down.”

The Amos, Quebec product is thrilled to join the Voodoos and his former teammate Dayton Murray.

“The Voodoos give me a great opportunity to continue to develop,” said Boutin.

“I believe it’s a step up for me in development and a great opportunity to play a sport I love. I am really excited to join the Voodoos family.”

The Voodoos are back on the ice July 9th and 10th in Barrie for their last summer prospects camp before main camp opens in late August.
