(UPDATE) Pedestrian struck last night in the city and police Tweet about rash of break-ins

North Bay Police report an 85 year old woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital after she was struck by a vehicle Thursday night.

The collision happened on McIntyre Street West near Cassells Street.

Police say the pedestrian failed to use the marked crossing at the traffic lights.

No charges were filed.

Meantime, police continue to ask the public to call them if you hear smashing glass or see people lurking.

A tweet last night said “culprits hitting us hard with break-ins” in the downtown area from John Street to Cassells and Oak to the Bypass.

Another social media post said someone is prying doors open.
