remember adam

A couple of Let’s Remember Adam signs have been put up in Kristin Brown‘s yard.

She lives at Bank and Pearson Streets in North Bay.

Adam Ranger was killed by a vehicle that didn’t stop for a school bus in February 2000.

Brown says there was a close call with a vehicle when her son was 4 and wanted to spread awareness of the importance of stopping for school buses.

She says it was 8 am when a vehicle ran a stop sign and almost ran the bus’s flashing lights, pointing out they were in the middle of the road when the incident happened.

Adam’s brother Pierre Ranger is the chair of the Let’s Remember Adam campaign.

He says they promote the campaign so that what happened to his family doesn’t happen again.

Ranger says it isn’t too difficult to stop when you see a school bus, but people aren’t doing that and the campaign reminds people what can happen, that you can lose a loved one, if the driver doesn’t stop.

Brown says there is enough awareness on the issue including flashing lights, the yellow bar and the stop sign on school buses, but people need to pay more attention.
