The Operation Warmth campaign in which people donate winter clothing including coats, boots and mitts is underway.

It’s being run by the Redeemer Lutheran Church at the corner of Ferguson St, and 2nd Ave.

Church spokesperson Peter Menard says they’re accepting items this month at the church and handing them out next month.

He says they’ve been involved in this event for over 20 years and they usually receive around 1500 coats every year.

He says they also accept sweaters, blankets and sheets.

Menard says you’re asked to put your donation into the big red box outside the church.

The items donated will be distributed all next month.

Menard says the hours of distribution are 9 to noon Monday to Saturday and 6:30 pm-8 pm from Monday to Thursday.
