The future of the Dionne Quints home was a hot topic at city council this week.

First, there was a recommendation to move the home to Strong Township and to send the artefacts to both the Callander Bay Museum and Strong Township and to display the text recognizing the history of the Dionne Quints at the Harris Learning Library.

But there was a lot of opposition too as Jeff Fournier said they have 2000 people who have signed a petition to keep everything in one location and another presentation to keep the home in the area or send it to a national museum in Ottawa.

The recommendations were sent to committee for further discussion.

Councillor Mark King has a message for the opponents.

He says they should step up to the plate and come up with a plan.

There’s no time frame on when a decision will be made but it will come up for discussion on Monday.
