A 34 year old city man is facing several charges after an incident involving a North Bay taxi driver.

Police say last night, the driver was assaulted but not injured in the taxi where it was parked on 6th Avenue West in the 300 block. He has been charged with assault, assault police officer and two counts of breach of probation.

In addition, a 32 year old male was charged with assault.

No name was released.

Police say it is their policy not to release names of adults following an assault charge.

Police say the officer was assaulted after 3 officers responded to the call from a taxi company dispatcher.
Meantime, North Bay Police have charged a young person with two counts each of making, possessing and distributing child pornography.

Police say the person charged captured explicit imagery of other young people in October and shared the imagery with others.

Police say they will not be releasing any more information that could lead to the identification of the person charged in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say a sexually explicit photograph or video of a person under 18 that is captured, saved, distributed or shared can be categorized as child pornography and may be a criminal offense.
