We’ve had our first taste of winter and it’s a sign of things to come.

The Weather Network‘s Winter Forecast is out and we can expect below normal temperatures in the North Bay area.

Meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg says temperatures may get quite cold, but they don’t expect deep Arctic plunges to persist.

As for precipitation, Sonnenburg says, “if you’re a fan of skiing and snowboarding, hitting the slopes, if you like going snowmobiling, this is the winter for you. We think we’re going to see a very active storm track into the Great Lakes this winter, snowier than normal conditions can be expected.”

She also says there could be some mixed precipitation too.

Meantime, Sonnenburg says there will be some mixed precipitation this winter too and some thaws with milder temperatures in between.
