The future of the Dionne Quints home is still up in the air, but the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce is getting the word out that they’re no longer involved in the issue.

The museum closed last year when the Chamber moved downtown.

President Jake Lacourse says they were involved in the committee that made recommendations, but that work has wrapped up, and so too has their involvement.

“With the amount of attention that’s being put on the museum and the artifacts, our office has been flooded with some phone calls and people stopping in to talk about the Dionne Quints,” Lacourse said.

He added, “the decision rests wholly on the City of North Bay.”

In fact, the issue is at the committee level of Council.

A city staff report proposes the home be moved to Strong Township with some documents going to the Harris Learning Library and items going to the Callander Bay Museum, which has brought about plenty of opposition from local residents.
