The Christmas break is over for the North Bay Battalion.

They resume play in Owen Sound tonight in a game against the Attack.

The Nipissing-Canadore Ringette team is in Guelph for the next few days taking part n the university challenge cup.

They are entered in the tier 2 division and will play Trent, McMaster and Wilfred Laurier over the next few days.

Two members of the Powassan Voodoos will play in the CJHL prospects game on January 25th in Cornwall.

Goalie Nate McDonald and Forward Andy Baker will play for Team East.

The Northern Ontario u21 Women’s provincial curling championship is underway at the North Bay Granite Curling Club.

The event started yesterday and wraps up on Friday.

The winner qualifies for the nationals in British Columbia next month.

North Bay’s Kate Sherry is the vice skip of the Sudbury area team which won the event last year.

There is no admission fee but donations are being asked for and that money will go to the club’s capital fund.

Volunteers are also needed to help put on the event.
