The North Bay Battalion dropped a 3-2 decision in Sudbury Friday night.

The Wolves scored twice in the first before the Troops’ Justin Brazeau cut the lead to 2-1 a minute and 39 seconds into the second period.

Sudbury then took a 3-1 lead with a power play goal around the 14 minute mark of the second.

In the third, North Bay forward Steve Harland (pictured) would round out the scoring with his 19th goal of the season.

The Battalion look to rebound with a home game Sunday afternoon against Barrie.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos lost for the first time since October 11th.

They were in Michigan Friday night, where the Soo Eagles won 4-1 over the visiting Voodoos.

The loss snaps Powassan’s unbeaten streak at 26 games.

Powassan is back in action tonight, back in Ontario, playing the Soo Thunderbirds.

 

Plenty varsity action Friday night.

In OUA men’s hockey, the Nipissing Lakers lost 4-2 to RMC.

Meantime, both Nipissing basketball teams lost to Carleton.

The women dropped a 70-35 decision while the men lost 102-59.

In OCAA men’s basketball, the Canadore Panthers lost 77-63 to Algonquin.

 

Back to hockey, the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers won 8-3 over the Timmins Majors Friday night.

Ryan Mills and Cole Craft each scored twice in the win.
