The list of recipients of the North Bay Kiwanis Citizen of the Year is a who’s who of individuals who have contributed to the community.

They include Mayor Al McDonald, John Richardson and last year’s winners Sharon Fung and David Washington of the North Bay North Stars.

Other recent honorees have included Harriet Madigan, John Strang and Lachlan McLachlan.

Kiwanis Club of Nipissing president Ralph Celentano says they do have a list of candidates, but want to give the public an opportunity for suggestions before the nominations close on March 24th.

He says it’s a chance for someone deserving to be recognized.

The club started honoring deserving citizens in 1985.

The recognition dinner will be held on May 25th at the Ramada Pinewood Park Resort.
